I create concept driven work that illuminates the human condition through the intersection of sound, movement, and theatre. Through careful use of repetition, juxtaposition, and attention to time, my work invites the audience to draw their own conclusions and meanings. I work collaboratively in the studio and across genres, and am interested in theatrical experiences that make room for both intellectual rigor and physical virtuosity.
My ongoing project, Steel Valley Rhythms,
investigates the connections between place,
memory and embodiment as experienced by
generations of Pennsylvania iron and steel workers.
Steel Valley Rhythms
This research has led to
questions about perceived boundaries between labor and art, the nature of time, and the frequently uneasy relationship between man and machine.
